Williston is the place to be for those passionate about wildlife. Three hundred and sixty five bird species are on North Dakota's bird watching checklist.

Some of these birds include Baird's Sparrow, LeConte's Sparrow, Sprague's Pipit, Piping Plover, Ferruginous Hawk, Least Tern, Upland Sandpiper, Chestnut-collared Longspur, Bobolink and Prairie chicken. Some good viewing spots in the Williston area are:
